Ragdoll Cats

Cats are some of the oldest known pets. They have been around forever and are great for cuddling with after a long day at work. There are some cats that you really want as pets and others that you may not want so much personally. Let's look at a cat called the Ragdoll.

Ragdoll cats were street cats. They are thought to have come from cats that were owned by people and then bred until they had certain characteristics. The name came from a breeder in California who bred Persian cats. Some cats are known as ragamuffins but they are actually in-bred with Ragdolls to keep certain traits. They are basically the same breed, but they were named by different people. They might only have a few slightly different characteristics.

Ragdoll cats are very big cats. They weigh around twenty pounds and have large bones and a large muscular body. They also have long legs. They are large and can take several years to grow to their full size, unlike most cats.

Ragdoll cats come in many different colors. Most colors are accepted as being a true Ragdoll breed of cat. Their coat is longer in some areas and shorter in others, like the front legs.

Ragdoll cats have a very loving temper. They are great for children because they get along with them very well. Many Ragdolls will relax immediately when they are picked up, They won't go livid or get scared, but will just relax. Ragdoll cats will follow you around, just like many other types of cats. They like being around humans. They also like being loved and being played with.

Ragdoll cats usually are very playful. They will usually stay that way through their entire life. They will also sometimes meet you at the door and will be much like a little puppy that follows you around. They aren't meant to be outside because they are very domesticated cats. They also aren't very defensive of themselves at all. They can sometimes cause pain by biting and clawing because they get so playful.

Ragdoll cats don't have to have a lot of grooming done. They are fine with brushing once a week. They aren't like Persian cats at all where you have to groom them every single day.

If you are thinking about getting a playful cat, the Ragdoll cat is a great idea. You have to be careful because they can hurt you sometimes and probably aren't the best for very young children. If you are thinking about getting a pet, remember to get as much information as you can before you purchase the animal.
