Siamese Cats

Cats are some of the best pets. They are loyal and they are fun to play with. They can also be cuddly. When you pick out a cat, you want one that is going to be perfect. You want it to have certain characteristics and want to make sure that it doesn't do some things. Let's look at the Siamese breed of cats.

Siamese cats are from Siam, or what is now Thailand. The King of Siam in around 1880 gave some Siamese cats to an Englishman. The Englishman brought them back to England. People fell in love with them. They became something that everyone wanted. Over time the Siamese cat became more and more different. People have been trying to restore them to their original look ever since. It has been done through breeding.

The Siamese cat was actually one of the first Oriental breeds of cat. They know that the cat came from Southern Asia, more specifically the Eastern part of that area. The Siamese cats are thought to be from the ancient cats that were worshipped in the temples but no one knows for sure. Siamese cats are thought to be the longest living of cats. They usually live until they are about fifteen to twenty years old but some have lived to be in their twenties.

Siamese cats are very slender. They are basically the exact opposite of Persian cats. They have very long and thin bodies. Their bones are very fine and the Siamese cats have very thin heads. Most of the parts on their body are pointy, like the ears and legs. Their tail is very thin also and gets more narrow towards the end. The eyes of the Siamese cat used to be crossed eyed but most breeders have gotten rid of that through breeding.

Siamese cats usually have dark spots on parts of their body like the ears, legs, tail, and feet. Some dark spots are also seen on the face of the cat. Most colors are allowed when classifying the cat as a Siamese cat.

Siamese cats are actually born a cream or white color. They are the same color all over the body. As they get older, their coat color darkens. You can usually tell exactly what color they will be by the time they are about four weeks old. Also, Siamese cats that are in colder climates usually have a darker skin and coat tone.

Siamese cats are very friendly. They will usually love being around people and are very loving towards them. They can sometimes be shy or nervous. Siamese cats are usually very noisy and "talk" a lot. They will always want attention. They usually stay very active throughout their life. Siamese cats are great if you are looking for a cat that isn't too fluffy and that is fun. Like with any pet, make sure that you check everywhere for information before purchasing something you are letting into your home.
